Introduction to horses

For younger children who are not yet ready for our lesson program or adults considering lessons, we offer an hour-long private intro lesson with one of our instructors. You will spend time preparing and handling the horse and ride for 30 minutes. The fee is $50. Contact us at (301) 475-5434 or via email to set up a time.

Regular lessons

  • Senior instructor, group lesson: $220.00/month

  • Assistant instructor, group lesson: $195.00/month

  • Junior instructor, group lesson or 1/2 hr private: $180.00/month

At this time, we are only able to accept payments with cash or a check.

Leasing a horse

Once a rider is capable of riding independently, extra riding time will help him or her progress. We offer several leasing options (use of AMIT horse) to give you extra riding time without the commitment and expense of owning a horse. If interested, talk to your instructor about available horses. You can also let the barn know by putting a note in the box or emailing us.

Full Lease

Vet bills are split 50/50 between owner and leasee, with leasee limit of $500.00. One lesson per week included in lease. $460-500.00/month (based on level of instructor).

Half Lease

3 days/week when horse is not scheduled for lessons: $220.00/month

2 days/week lease

2 days/week when horse is not scheduled for lessons: $175.00/month

1 day/week lease

1 day/week when horse is not scheduled for lessons: $150.00/month
